SERIES OVERVIEW

Centuries after the Great Fracture shattered the elemental balance of Aeloria, the forces of fire, water, air, and soil have grown dangerously unstable. Volcanoes awaken without warning, storms rage across the skies, tides consume entire coastlines, and the land itself begins to break apart. Hidden deep within the forgotten city of Elysara, an ancient corruption has begun spreading through the Core, hastening the world's collapse while unseen forces work from the shadows to ensure balance is never restored.

Four descendants, each bearing an ancient Worldmark and entrusted with one of the elemental Focuses, answer the Core's call from four distant realms. Before they can stand together, each must undertake a perilous journey of their own, mastering extraordinary new abilities, overcoming profound personal trials, and surviving those determined to stop them. United at last, the first Guardians in centuries must cross the legendary Veiled Realm, uncover the truth behind Elysara's fall, confront the darkness consuming the Core, and restore the elemental balance before their world is lost forever.

Guardians of Aeloria is a six-book epic fantasy saga that blends immersive worldbuilding, elemental magic, dragons, richly imagined cultures, unforgettable characters, and a sweeping journey from divided realms to a reunited world. At its heart, it is a story of legacy, friendship, sacrifice, and the enduring hope that even a fractured world can be made whole again.

SAMPLE INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

What inspired Guardians of Aeloria?

  • The initial spark came after rewatching Marvel's Phase One films. I loved how each hero was introduced through their own standalone story before coming together in The Avengers. That storytelling structure stayed with me, and I began wondering what it might look like in an epic fantasy setting. I've always been drawn to character-driven stories, and I wanted readers to truly know each of the four Guardians before asking them to save the world together. Rather than introducing everyone at once, each of the first four books tells the origin story of a different Guardian, allowing readers to experience their individual journeys before their paths ultimately converge. I've also been a lifelong nature lover, so the idea of building a world around the balance of Fire, Water, Air, and Soil immediately resonated with me. That simple concept became the foundation for Aeloria, inspiring its realms, cultures, creatures, dragons, history, and magic system. Before long, the world had grown far beyond the original idea, becoming a place I wanted readers to explore as much as the story itself.

Why did you choose to tell each Guardian's story separately instead of introducing them all in the first book?

  • From the very beginning, I wanted readers to experience Aeloria one realm at a time. Each region has its own culture, history, landscapes, traditions, and challenges, and I felt each deserved the space to become a living, breathing part of the story rather than simply a stop along the journey. I also wanted each Guardian to have a true origin story. Every one of them begins in a different place, not just geographically, but emotionally. Some embrace the legacy they've inherited, while others struggle with the responsibility that has been placed upon them. Giving each Guardian a dedicated novel allows readers to understand who they are, what they stand to lose, and why their journey matters before their paths ultimately converge. By the time all four Guardians come together, my hope is that readers feel equally invested in each of them. Rather than meeting four heroes at once, they've already shared each character's triumphs, failures, sacrifices, and growth. That emotional foundation makes the larger story, and the relationships between the Guardians, far more meaningful.

What makes your fantasy world unique?

  • For me, it all begins with balance. Every realm has evolved around its element, shaping its landscapes, architecture, traditions, clothing, creatures, and way of life. I wanted each region to feel like a place readers could truly imagine living in, rather than simply another stop on the map. I also wanted the world to feel interconnected. The history of Aeloria influences everything that happens in the present, and readers uncover that history alongside the Guardians as they journey across the realms. Every new place reveals another piece of the larger story, making the world itself an important part of the adventure. Beyond the novels, I enjoy expanding Aeloria through maps, artwork, character profiles, creatures, and behind-the-scenes worldbuilding on my website. My hope is that readers don't simply visit Aeloria for the story, but enjoy exploring it as a living world that continues to grow with each new book.

Why elemental Guardians?

  • At its heart, The Guardians of Aeloria is a story about balance. The elemental magic isn't just a source of power, it's a reflection of the relationship between people and the natural world. When I look at our own world, I see how often we treat our natural resources as though they're limitless. We pollute our air and water, destroy habitats, and too often forget that we're part of nature, not separate from it. I wanted to imagine a world where that relationship was different, where people understood that harmony comes not from controlling the elements, but from respecting them. That philosophy became the foundation of the Guardians themselves. They aren't rulers over Fire, Water, Air, and Soil. They're stewards entrusted with protecting the delicate balance that allows life to flourish. Nature in Aeloria is beautiful, generous, and full of wonder, but it's also powerful and deserving of respect. When that balance is honored, both people and the natural world thrive together. When it's broken, everyone shares the consequences.

Why six books?

  • From the beginning, I knew this story couldn't be told in a single novel. I wanted each of the four Guardians to have their own origin story, giving readers the opportunity to truly know them before asking them to save the world together. Each of the first four books explores a different realm of Aeloria, allowing readers to experience its unique culture, landscapes, beauty, and dangers through the eyes of the Guardian who calls it home. Once all four Guardians have awakened their powers and embraced the responsibilities they've inherited, the story shifts. The final two books bring them together on a shared journey, where the challenge is no longer simply learning to wield their elemental abilities, but learning to trust one another. Throughout the series, balance isn't just a force of nature, it's something the Guardians themselves must achieve if they're to succeed. The final book brings their journey to its long-awaited destination, though not in the way they expect. It asks what restoring balance truly means, not only for the Guardians, but for the people of Aeloria and the future of the world they've fought to protect. While The Guardians of Aeloria is planned as a complete six-book saga with a definitive ending, Aeloria is a world rich with history. If readers continue to enjoy exploring it as much as I've enjoyed creating it, I'd certainly love the opportunity to return someday, whether through companion stories or tales from Aeloria's distant past.

What has surprised you most about writing The Guardians of Aeloria?

  • Without question, it's how much the world has grown. When I first had the idea, I thought I was writing a fantasy series. I had the broad concept, the four Guardians, the elemental magic, and the overall journey. But as I began writing, Aeloria seemed to take on a life of its own. Every time I asked a simple question, like What would people eat here? or How would they build their homes? or What creatures would thrive in this environment? the answers led to ten more questions, and before I knew it, an entire world was unfolding. What surprised me most was how interconnected everything became. The villages, cultures, dragons, creatures, history, traditions, architecture, and even the smallest details all grew naturally from the elemental foundation of each realm. Nothing exists in isolation. Every piece helps shape the next. Perhaps the biggest surprise of all was realizing that Aeloria had become more than the setting for a story. It became a world I genuinely wanted to explore myself. That's what inspired the maps, artwork, creature guides, villages, and worldbuilding articles on my website. I wanted readers to have the opportunity to explore Aeloria beyond the novels, just as I have while creating it.

What do you hope readers take away from the series?

  • More than anything, I hope readers simply enjoy the journey. I don't believe it's my place to tell people what they're supposed to take away from a story. Every reader brings their own experiences, perspectives, and emotions to the page, and I think that's part of what makes reading so special. If the series encourages someone to look at the natural world with a little more wonder and a little more respect, then that's wonderful. One of the central ideas behind The Guardians of Aeloria is that true harmony comes from living alongside nature rather than trying to control it. I hope that message resonates in whatever way feels meaningful to each reader. But honestly, if someone spends an afternoon curled up in a comfortable chair with a warm cup of tea, completely immersed in Aeloria, forgetting about the stresses of everyday life for a little while, then I'll consider that time well spent. Stories have always been an escape for me, and if I can offer that same escape to someone else, I couldn't ask for anything more.
